Two devices or two hundred. One phone hosts a room, the rest join, and every screen and torch fires the same pattern at the same moment. Music can drive the timing from each phone's own microphone, or the host can stream a track that everyone plays in sync.

For rooms too big for radio. Timing comes off the server clock, not phone clocks, so nobody drifts.
Each phone listens to the room and finds the beat itself. The audio never leaves the device.
The host picks a track and every phone plays it at the same position, correcting drift as it goes.
Build your own sequences, save them, export them, share them. Import someone else's.

Signing in is optional and only adds cloud backup of your templates and profile.
No. Nearby rooms run phone-to-phone over Bluetooth and Wi-Fi with no account and no connection. Online rooms are the option for when the crowd is bigger than radio range.
Beat detection runs entirely on your own phone and the audio is never uploaded or stored. It only reads the rhythm to time the flashes.
Only if you want your saved patterns backed up, or want to host an online room. Everything else works signed out.
